A snack or a meal?

Chicken feet. Menoto. Runways.

My grandmother used to make these and would leave them at the counter so we can grab one when we’re hungry, at school we used to have these with amagwinya and my people from Rustenburg have this with pap, that’s wild right?! But also at taxi ranks they sell these and you can eat them on the go. So menoto they can be a meal or a snack, it’s really your choice, I personally feel like they’re a snack!!! You cannot possibly eat this and be full.

I know you’re probarly thinking “Yuck chicken feet” because they’re literally just skin, cartilage, tendons and bones and there isn’t really meat to it, TRUE but what you don’t know is that chicken feet are high in collagen [collagen is the most abundant protein in your body]. The collagen may help relieve joint pain, aid skin health and prevent bone loss.

To prepare these, I boiled them for a good 20minutes and fa fa Worcester Sauce Braai mix, and Knorrox Chicken stock. No oil required, boiled for a few minutes till pow MENOTO e moonate.

Allium sativum

Garlic is a superstar ingredient that gives us a nutritional punch and adds wonderful flavour to many recipes.

My uncle’s secret ingredient to cooking red meat – Garlic! Used garlic today to cook a subtle lamb stew, very happy with the results however not delicious as my uncles’.

To prepare my lamb, I had to boil it for hours because of the old people in my household without teeth, after boiling it I fried it a lil bit, a friend of mine Oarabile uses a fancy word “saute” and then fa fa garlic and every spice in my house really! No recipe folllowed

For my carrots and potatoes mash, boiled them, fa fa Rama, fa fa White pepper. Mashed it and voila.

Just your normal white rice.

Health benefits of garlic include lower blood pressure and cholesterol, an anti-inflammatory effect, a reduced risk of cancer, and a stronger immune system.

Bread? or Eggs? or both?

Eggs are undeniably healthy and delicious. Studies have shown that eating eggs at breakfast increases feelings of fullness!!🍳

And I love my breakfast simple and filling! I love scrambled eggs with toast, today I found out we had no bread but the baker in me made a plan. So i made this easy meal, whisking eggs, flour, baking powder and a pinch of salt and boom => egg bread(I think)

Ingredients : Eggs Flour Baking powder Salt and Oil

3eggs a day keeps whoever away😂 stay healthy and enjoy!!

Potjie Kos Sunday!

My family is big and its often a struggle for our grandmother to feed all of us, however she is a three-legged pot genius!! Today we had Potjie kos with rice, literally the best I’ve ever had !!

What is Potjie you ask? Potjiekos is literally translated “small-pot food”, is a dish prepared outdoors. It is traditionally cooked in a round, iron, three-legged pot. The pot is heated using small amounts of wood or charcoal.
Ingredients include MEAT, vegetables of any kind and whatever spices needed.

Have potjie with your family, could be with samp(plain one without beans), rice or dumblings.
